The Taccia Reserve Maki-e Autumn's Leaves Limited Edition fountain pen is made from hand-crafted ebonite hard rubber and Urushi lacquer, and decorated with raden and gold powder. It is available with your choice of 14k solid gold nib.

With its stunning depiction of falling leaves which has become emblematic of the autumn season, the Taccia Reserve Maki-e Autumn's Leaves demonstrates the height of fine art in a writing instrument.

 

Ebonite is a classic material for quality writing instruments, and the Autumn's Leaves fountain pen has an ebonite barrel which is coated with over 40 layers of Urushi lacquer. Though the motif remains abstract, it conveys a sense of falling leaves using raden and gold powder sprinkled throughout. Warm burgundy, gold, and brown envelop a backdrop of forest green and black as the entire pen seems to come to life. This time-intensive process takes at least 120 days to complete.

The striking leaves pattern continues even on the gripping section, demonstrating Taccia's excellent attention to detail. With many layers of Urushi lacquer, the finish and section are exceptionally smooth to the touch.

Only 50 pieces of Autumn's Leaves are available worldwide, and we have managed to secure a small number for our customers. For those who enjoy the representation of autumn but prefer a more subtle motif, we also carry the Taccia Reserve Maki-e Autumn's Brushes.


This is a relatively lightweight fountain pen, but is perfect for those who prefer a mid-sized writing instrument with presence. This is a cartridge-converter pen which uses Sailor brand ink cartridges and converters. Flat end caps provide even more surface area for surprising and elegant detail. A gold-plated clip adds to the warmth that this pen conveys.
