Being made available in just 50 numbered pieces worldwide, the Sailor King of Pen Tamenuri is the first layered finish urushi ebonite pen Sailor has commissioned.
Our complimentary nib tuning adjusts pressure and ink flow to your personal preferences, and our exclusive nib customizations can add to the character and distinctiveness of your writing on the page - choose the Broad nib for best results with our noted Architects Point modification, which provides line variation very similar to Sailor's no longer available King of Pen Naginata Togi nib.
Sailor has produced many solid color urushi ebonite pens in the King of Pen series, but this is the first time, in recent memory at least, that it has commissioned a pen in the kind of layered tamenuri finish familiar to Nakaya and Danitrio users - the dark red hue used here would be called Aka-tamenuri on a Nakaya, or Shu-dame by Danitrio. Each pen is individually numbered and signed by artist Koushu Nishihara.
The King of Pen Tamenuri utilizes Sailor's convenient cartridge-converter system - it can fill with any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with the provided converter, and can also use Sailor brand disposable ink cartridges. A handsome presentation box adds to the pen's value and also its suitability as a very special gift item. We are an authorized Sailor dealer.
