Sailor King of Pen Sakura Nagare
Sakura Nagare translates in Japanese to "flowing cherry blossom," and Sailor's new King of Pen Sakura Nagare fountain pen uses abalone and gold powder to depict cherry blossom leaves flowing along a river. Set against a black backdrop, this oversized fountain pen tells a simple story with elegant detail.
This is a pen for larger hands. The surface area allows for more room for the delicate maki-e depicted by artist Tadashi Nakamura. Not only is it visually stunning, but with its cartridge-converter filling system and 21k solid gold King of Pen nib, the Sakura Nagare is also an excellent writing instrument.
Pieces of abalone, or raden, are embedded in the black resin to emulate a flowing river. Amongst the blue and purple, Nakamura has painted golden cherry blossom leaves and flowers. Light reflecting off of the raden mimics the movement of the water as it carries the cherry blossoms downstream.

The Sakura Nagare fountain pen arrives in a wooden presentation box lined with plush blue velvet and comes with a kimono and starter cartridge.

This pen is beyond beautiful, it's not just a fountain pen, it is a work of art that I will cherish forever. The nib on this pen is the smoothest nib I have ever used and that's because of the nib optimization service which they did an amazing job at. This pen will now always be my favorite pen no matter what.
