Sailor King of Pen Blue Urushi Gold
Part of Sailor's exclusive Bespoke Collection, the King of Pen Blue Urushi brings a deep navy finish to this more than full-sized fountain pen, just slightly longer and heavier than the Montblanc 149. It is handcrafted from high quality ebonite and then finished over the course of months with up to twelve coats of blue Urushi lacquer to produce lustrous color and shine. Urushi lacquer has been used as a decorative and functional coating since Japan's Jomon period (two thousand years ago).

Deep blue-black urushi resin and gold trim make an elegant color combination. This is an unusual finish for the King of Pen, and sure to become a collector's favorite.
This is a pen with a large presence. Its rounded cap ends and streamlined shape provide excellent balance in the hand, and the Sailor 21k nib is renowned for its smooth writing capabilities.
Its rounded cap ends and streamlined shape provide excellent balance in the hand, and the Sailor 21k nib is renowned for its smooth writing capabilities. The remarkably simple clip shape enhances this fountain pen with the only design element that interrupts the classic flow.
The King of Pen 21k solid gold nib excels as one of the smoothest in the world. For those who prefer more line width variation and an innovative nib inspired by Japanese brush painting, the Naginata-Togi nib as available is also available for an additional cost.
The pen arrives in a satin lined dark wood box along with a bottle Sailors ink. This makes a proud presentation.
