Gold powder, silver dust, and other precious materials are used in the creation of this pen, drawing on a centuries-old tradition of Maki-e art and urushi lacquer technique. Each individual pen can require up to a year to be produced.
Momiji literally means red leaves, and the related term momijigari refers to the Japanese practice of visiting parks and forests where the trees have turned red in autumn. The motif can convey a variety of deeper meanings as well, having connotations of family and household comfort, as well as mortality and the passing of time.
An appropriately-styled wooden presentation box adds to the pen's value and collectibility. Platinum's convenient cartridge-converter system allows the pen to be filled using any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with the provided converter, and it can also use Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges, available in a variety of colors.
Each pen will be carefully inspected and tested by us prior to shipping. We are an authorized Platinum dealer.
