Raden Maki-e is a craft with a centuries old history in Japan, and the M800 Royal Gold Raden is handcrafted using traditional techniques. Black urushi lacquer, layers of 14k gold foil, mother of pearl, and translucent suki-urushi are hand-applied over a period of months to produce the unique striped appearance. Each pen is individually numbered and signed by the artist.
The M800 series utilizes Pelikan's renowned piston-fill system, and is provided with your choice of solid gold 18k nib unit. Each pen ships in a Paulowina softwood presentation box, adding to the appeal of this pen both for collectors and as a very special gift item.
