Two Kingfisher birds, renowned in Japan for their skill in catching their prey and often used as a symbol for the fulfillment of prayer, are depicted on the pen in a combination of Taka-Maki-e and Togidashi-Maki-e techniques. The edition number and artist's signature are hand-signed on the pen, and each pen ships in a traditional Japanese softwood presentation box.

More than just a stunning work of art, this is also a highly practical fountain pen - Pelikan's renowned differential piston-fill system provides for a very generous ink capacity, and allows this pen to fill using any bottled fountain pen ink.

Our complimentary nib tuning and optional nib customizations are made available as usual for this extraordinary pen, but a collector wishing the pen sent un-inked and without our usual testing and set-up process can indicate this in the notes and we will honor the request.
