Pelikan Souverän M805 Stresemann Anthracite

Pelikan adds a touch of German modernism to the Souverän series with the M805 Stresemann Anthracite fountain pen. As dressed-up as a pinstripe suit and as practical as a workhorse, the Stresemann transcends class.

Recently purchased with fine nib. Fantastic for professional or casual use. Outstanding performance! Use with Pelikan Edelstein, Diamine or Pilot Iroshizuku ink. Excellent service by Classic Fountain Pens.

1920's Weimar Republic foreign minister Gustav Stresemann was known for his striped gray charcoal suits, leading to Pelikan's striped pens of the era being affectionately known as "Stresemanns." It seems only appropriate that Pelikan has now chosen to pay homage to this man and the era of political and artistic openness during which he lived with this subtly elegant writing instrument.

While Gustav Stresemann was a political moderate, he was in his own way a fashion innovator, rejecting late Victorian morning coats and other 19th century standbys in favor of comfortable, well-cut suits which could be worn either at work or at home. Similarly, the M805 Stresemann seems equally suitable for a corporate board room, an artist's studio, or the hard work of a writing desk at home.

The M805 Stresemann ships in a Pelikan brand presentation box which includes a soft white vinyl pen wrap and all the proper papers.

Unless requested otherwise, each pen or nib you purchase from us will be carefully examined, tested, and optimized for your personal writing characteristics before we send it to you.
