Featuring 23k gold plating over a metal body and designed in the likeness of London's famous Elizabeth Tower, more commonly known as Big Ben, the Cross Peerless Special Edition Collection London fountain pen is both an instant collectible as well as a superb everyday writing instrument.


Though officially known as Elizabeth Tower, this famous London landmark is nicknamed Big Ben for the Great Bell of the clock and clock tower of the Palace of Westminster. One of the most distinguished symbols of the United Kingdom, Big Ben was completed in 1858 and holds the second largest four-faced chiming clock in the world. 

The Cross Peerless London fountain pen features a striking design which reflects the Tower's Gothic Revival style architectural details. Roman numerals of the clock circle the conical top of the cap, and engravings on the cap and barrel emulate the vertical lines and windows of the tower itself.
 


 


Engine-turned engraving makes this writing instrument a delight to the touch, while the black section lends a visual contrast to the gold-plated surface. Introduced in 2014 to mark the 125th anniversary of the first Cross fountain pen, the Peerless series has quickly become a favorite with many pen aficionados.

 

This is a full-sized and well-balanced pen, perfect for those who prefer a substantial writing instrument. It can use convenient Cross brand ink cartridges, or can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink using the included converter. 


The end cap features a round bezel jewelry setting with a premium Red Swarovski crystal. Combined with the 23k gold plate, the crystal symbolizes the Queen's monarchy.

 


Each pen is individually serialized at the top, and the latitude and longitude of the location of the Elizabeth Tower is engraved alongside this number.

 

 


The smooth-writing 18k solid gold nibs have been created specially for Cross by Sailor, one of Japan's most noted pen manufacturers. Notice the special "125" engraving on the nib for this series. 

These 18k nibs are well-suited to customizations such as Cursive Italic, Left Oblique, and our special Architect's Point modification.

 


The Cross Peerless Special Edition London fountain pen ships in a luxury hinged presentation box and includes papers and a starter cartridge.
