Fuku-rokuju is a compound name meaning descendants-health-longevity, and this deity with Taoist origins and associations with the South Pole star is now venerated as the god of popularity.
The motif on this pen, created by noted Maki-e artist Masahiro Yamada of the Kokkokai Collective, depicts Fuku-rokuju holding a precious gem in his right hand and expressing his gratitude for the help of his traditional companions, a crane and a turtle, who have brought him his cane and scroll.
Not just a beautiful work of art in its own right, the Yukari Fuku-rokuju is also a superb everyday writing instrument which uses Namiki's convenient cartridge-converter filling system - the pen can fill with any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with the provided converter, and can also use Pilot brand ink cartridges.
Each pen comes in a bespoke wooden presentation box which includes a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Fuku-rokuju Limited Edition ink, as well as a box of ink cartridges. The lid of the presentation box features a laser engraving depicting Mt.Fuji and a treasure ship carrying the gods of good fortune.
Our complimentary nib tuning adjusts pressure and ink flow to your personal preferences, and our optional nib customizations can add to the character and distinctiveness of your writing on the page - but if you are a collector who would prefer to leave the pen unadjusted, just indicate this in your notes during check-out. We are an authorized Namiki dealer.
