The Piccolo is the one of the shortest of the Nakaya urushi pens. The name Piccolo comes from the smallest of the woodwind instruments.
This is made using the Tame-Sukashi technique which reveals the handpainted elephant design in Red and gold urushi. This motif is then over-painted with dark semi-transparent urushi lacquer. As time goes on the elephants will be come more prominent

The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer is made of solid 14K gold. Each of these nibs is suitable for our customization to extra flexible. The larger tips can be customized by us into architect's, cursive italic, stub or oblique points.
