The Nakaya Piccolo Cigar Shu Unpolished fountain pen is hand turned from solid hard rubber rod stock, then finished in natural urushi lacquer. Each pen is provided with your choice of 14k solid gold nib.

This Nakaya fountain pen is made of hard rubber and coated with Urushi, a material made from the sap of a Japanese lacquer tree. The process of collecting the Urushi (sap) and applying many layers of lacquer to this fountain pen takes three months to complete. This finish reveals a level of craftsmanship and attention that we have only seen in the finest pens.
Decorative rice paper, a simple solid softwood shipping box decorated with Japanese Kanji script, and a fabric pen "kimono" are all included with this pen, making it a lovely presentation item. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.
