Nakaya Naka-ai Cigar Palmet
A unique offering even by Nakaya standards, the Naka-ai Cigar Palmet features a black Maki-e palmet motif over an unusual white eggshell base. Each pen is hand-finished by skilled artists in the traditional craft center of Wajima on the west coast of Japan.
Our complimentary nib tuning completes the process by adjusting optimum pressure and ink flow to your personal writing characteristics. Optional nib customizations can then add to the character and distinctiveness of your writing on the page. We are the sole authorized Nakaya dealer in the English-speaking world.
Varied palmet motifs can be seen in many Nakaya pens, including many pens created using exacting chinkin technique. Here, the motif is created using black Maki-e over the unusual eggshell white base - please note that this base color is used only for higher-end Maki-e pens, and Nakaya does not make it available as a solid color finish without Maki-e.
This pen uses Nakaya's convenient cartridge-converter system - the pen can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with the reusable converter, provided by us free of charge with your order. Nakaya pens can also be filled with Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges, a great choice for those who want easy filling choices on the go.
Each Nakaya pen is packaged in a special paulownia softwood presentation box and also includes a fabric pen kimono and starter pack of ink cartridges.
