Nakaya Long Writer Midori

The Nakaya Long Writer Midori is hand turned from solid hard rubber rod stock, then finished with multiple layers of urushi lacquer. Dark green Midori is a particularly challenging finish to produce, and Nakaya generally only provides pen in this finish once per year.

Our complimentary nib tuning adjusts pressure and ink flow to your personal characteristics, and our exclusive nib customizations can add additional character to your writing on the page. We are the sole Nakaya dealer in the English-speaking world.

Though simple in form, the Nakaya Long Writer Midori fountain pen exudes elegance due to its rich materials, lustrous color, and streamlined shape. The Midori color evokes images of lush evergreen forests with its deep green finish.

The urushi tradition is historic and profound in Japan, where urushi lacquer has adorned utilitarian objects for centuries. The pen fills using any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with a reusable converter, provided by us free of charge. It can also use Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges.
