Layered Midori-tamenuri is one of the most exacting and time intensive finishes Nakaya offers - and also, in the opinion of many users, one of the most beautiful.
Each Nakaya Long Cigar Midori-tamenuri fountain pen is meticulously hand-finished by skilled artisans in the traditional craft center of Wajima on the west coast of Japan. Midori-tamenuri is known as a particularly challenging finish to produce, and Nakaya and its artisans are taking great pride in being able to offer it once again.
The pen uses Nakaya's convenient cartridge-converter system - it can fill with any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with a converter, provided by us free of charge with your order. It can also use Platinum brand disposable ink cartridges. A traditional softwood presentation box, cloth pen kimono, and starter pack of ink cartridges are also included. Each pen is provided with your choice of 14k solid gold nib.
Our complimentary nib tuning adjusts optimum pressure and ink flow to your personal preferences, and optional nib customizations can add even greater distinctiveness to your writing and can also make this pen a valuable tool for professional or amateur calligraphers.
