The Nakaya 17mm Portable Cigar Heki-tamenuri String Rolled fountain pen has a textured string wrap which provides both functional and aesthetic details. The string wrapped around the middle not only provides a visual and textural delight, but it also serves a functional purpose by strengthening the area around the cap and barrel edges. String wrapping has a long history as a decorative art in Japan - tsukamaki, for instance, is the art of sword handle wrapping.
