Released to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon, the NASA-approved Montegrappa Moon Landing Open Edition adapts the design of the Saturn V rocket to a stylish and fully functional fountain pen. Even the pen case emulates sample boxes used to collect lunar soil! Arriving very soon, this pen is now available for pre-order.
Normally furnished with only a steel nib, we provide this pen with your choice of Montegrappa 14k solid gold rhodium-plated nib, qualifying this pen for our complimentary nib tuning services as well as our exclusive nib customizations. We are an authorized Montegrappa dealer.
With an aluminum body accented with stainless steel trim, the Montegrappa Moon Landing Open Edition is a sleek grey homage to the era of the space race. Laser etching combines with textured and polished surfaces to detail the cap and body, and the fully functional clip is in the shape of a stairway structure supporting the rocket.
Beyond the novelty of its appearance, the Moon Landing Open Edition is also a highly usable everyday writer given an added boost by the 18k solid gold nib set specially in our workshop. The convenient cartridge-converter system allows for the use of any bottled fountain pen ink when fitted with the provided converter, or with any standard international size disposable ink cartridge, such as those we offer from J. Herbin, Kaweco, and Pelikan. The special presentation box includes a starter ink cartridge.
