Modeled after the iconic Chrysler Building in Midtown Manhattan, the Cross Peerless Special Edition Collection New York City fountain pen captures the heart and soul of this inspiring city. Platinum plating on the cap and barrel provides a color scheme similar to that of the actual building, and engraved details reflect the skyscraper's Art Deco Style.


Located on Manhattan's East Side in the Turtle Bay neighborhood and completed in 1930, the Chrysler Building is considered by many modern architects to be one of New York City's finest buildings. It is renowned as a classic example of Art Deco architecture with its terraced crown and geometric details.

The Cross Peerless New York City fountain pen features an engraved design which reflects the Art Deco style architectural details. Ornamentation seen on the building's crown is reproduced at the top of the cap, and the design of the pen's barrel depicts some of the building's 3,862 windows.


 


Engine-turned engraving makes this writing instrument a delight to the touch, while the black section lends a sleek visual contrast to the platinum-plated surface. This is an excellent choice for those who gravitate towards silver jewelry or watches.

 

At a closed length of 5.7" and a weight of nearly 45 grams, this is a full-sized and well-balanced pen, perfect for those who prefer a substantial writing instrument. It can use convenient Cross brand ink cartridges, or can be filled with any bottled fountain pen inkusing the included converter.


The end cap features a round bezel jewelry setting with a premium Green Swarovski crystal which symbolizes money on Wall Street.


Each pen is individually serialized at the top, and the latitude and longitude of the location of the Chrysler Building is engraved alongside this number.


The smooth-writing 18k solid gold rhodium-plated nibs have been created specially for Cross by Sailor, one of Japan's most noted pen manufacturers. Notice the special "125" engraving on the nib for this series. 

These 18k nibs are well-suited to customizations such as Cursive Italic, Left Oblique, and our special Architect's Point modification.



The Cross Peerless Special Edition New York City fountain pen ships in a luxury hinged presentation box and includes papers and a starter cartridge.
