Because the stone-finish texture of the Ishime finish is carried through to the gripping section where it is really felt, the design of this pen utilizes its tactile properties to the greatest possible extent. This is a fairly compact pen yet one that fits comfortably in most hands.

As with all hand-painted Tame-nuri pens, the colors will vary slightly from pen to pen - no two will ever be exactly the same. With time, the outer dark layer will grow more transparent, allowing the reddish under-layer to show through.

This pen can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter. Nakaya pens can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.

14k nibs are well-suited to customizations including Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique, as well as the modification for added flex.
