Nakaya Naka-ai Cigar Blue Rose with Raden
The Nakaya Naka-ai Cigar Blue Rose with Raden fountain pen utilizes hand-placed abalone shell over a Heki-tamenuri finish. The tapered Naka-ai shape beautifully complements the gentling spiraling pattern of this design.
With its peaked ends and tapered body, the Naka-ai combines many of Nakaya's most distinctive design features in a single model. This is a pen that will be a very comfortable fit for most pen users.
Like all Nakaya Urushi pens, each Naka-ai pen is made of hand-turned ebonite hard rubber in Nakaya's Tokyo workshop, then sent to the Wajima region in western Japan for Maki-e work and finishing with Urushi lacquer. Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.
The Nakaya Naka-ai Cigar Blue Rose with Raden fountain pen is provided with solid gold 14k single-tone nib in your choice of tipping size. Nakaya pens are individually handcrafted in a process that requires a minimum of three to six months and often much longer.
