Namiki Yukari Shooting Star Raden
A companion piece to the similar Milky Way Raden, the Namiki Yukari Shooting Star Raden fountain pen uses traditional Maki-e technique to realize an astronomically-inspired motif - this combination of the traditional and the contemporary is a hallmark of Namiki style.
Each pen is hand-finished by Maki-e artist Misa using Togidashi and Raden Maki-e technique at the Namiki workshop in Kanegawa, just south of Tokyo. We provide this pen with your choice of Namiki 18k solid gold nib.
Namiki's Yukari Raden Maki-e pens are not just beautiful examples of a traditional craft, but also eminently practical writing instruments - the cartridge-converter fill system allows this pen to use either Pilot brand disposable ink cartridges, or any bottled fountain ink when using the provided converter. A traditionally-styled wooden presentation is also included, making this a highly appropriate choice for a special gift item.
Our complimentary nib tuning services adjust pressure and ink flow to your personal writing preferences and help ensure that your Namiki pen will be just as impressive on the page as in its appearance. Our exclusive nib customizations can then take your writing to the next level, adding line-width variation which adds character and distinctiveness and which can also make this pen an excellent choice for calligraphers. We are an authorized Namiki dealer.
