An exception is something that does not follow a rule, and Waterman's new Exception Slim line of fountain pens breaks free of conventions. With its quadrangular body that tapers into a rounded shape at the section for a comfortable grip, the Exception Slim manages to be both visually unique and fully functional at the same time. And don't let the word "slim" deceive you - slim only in comparison to the generously sized Exception standard, this is a full-sized pen that will be a comfortable fit for most users.

Take a closer look at the ends of the Exception Slim Blue fountain pen. Both ends are square in shape, although the cap end has the Waterman "W" intricately imprinted into the tassie.

This pen uses Waterman's cartridge-converter system, which allows it to be filled using any bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter. It can also use Waterman brand cartridges. The cap pushes and pulls on and off making this fountain pen a snap for quick access to a wet ink line.

The black gripping section of the Exception Slim is contoured so that it matches the square shape of the barrel at its base, then tapers towards the nib. Attention to ergonomic detail is a hallmark of the contemporary Waterman brand.

This pen is available with your choice of 18k solid gold rhodium-plated nib. Unlike most other Waterman pens, extra nib units are not made available for purchase.
