The Eboya Ricchiku Large Kaze Blue-Green is made from hand-crafted ebonite hard rubber and is available with your choice of 14k solid gold Bock nib.

Warm blue-green Kaze seems a perfect complement to the notched contours of the Eboya Ricchiku Large fountain pen. Hand-turned from sustainably harvested ebonite hard rubber, this pen has been crafted to resemble hand-cut bamboo, and the natural hues of the surface augment the effect. Don't let the distinctive appearance of this pen fool you, however - this is as much a practical everyday writing instrument as it is a finely crafted art object in its own right.

Eboya supplies the ebonite hard rubber utilized by most of the major Japanese pen manufacturers. The pens they produce under their own name combine a reverence for traditional Japanese folks crafts with a highly perceptive re-imagining of classic designs from the golden era of fountain pens. Each Eboya pen is hand-crafted from start to finish in a process that requires half a year or more.

The Ricchiku is designed to be used posted. Note the hollow barrel end which facilitates easy posting of the cap.

Ebonite hard rubber is the classic material used for the production of quality fountain pens - vintage pens made in this process are still in everyday usage a hundred years and more after being originally sold. To avoid premature fading, care should be taken to avoid overly long exposure to extreme heat or direct sunlight. Eboya considers the changes in color that will occur in time to be part of the natural seasoning process. "Wabi-Sabi" is the term used in Japanese culture for the notion that objects gain in interest and value through wear and usage.
