This full-sized writing instrument features a larger pen body than the Yukari Collection and is perfect for those who prefer a bit more heft to their fountain pens. Yukari Royale series pens utilize a cartridge-converter filling system - pens can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink by using the provided converter, or can use Pilot-Namiki brand cartridges.

Utilizing the Chinkin technique, the artist carves the ultra-fine pattern of the cat and reeds with a sharp instrument.

Gold powder is then inlaid to fill in the carvings, and Urushi lacquer is used to coat the masterpiece.This is an extremely time-intensive process, as the skilled Maki-e artist must use care when carving the fine, narrow lines of the design. The artist Yasuji Sumi-San has signed his name in gold kanji on the barrel of the pen, nestled inconspicuously amongst the motif.
