Namiki Emperor Maneki-neko Limited Edition
The Namiki Emperor Maneki-neko Limited Edition has been produced in just 99 numbered fountain pens worldwide. The Maneki-neko, or Beckoning Cat, is a traditional symbol of prosperity and good fortune. This is a hand-turned ebonite body pen utilizing an eyedropper filling system and hand-finished in Taka Maki-e and Togidashi Maki-e techniques by noted artist Masaru Hayashi, a master in the field.
Many layers of symbolism are depicted on this pen. First is Maneki-neko, the waving cat of good fortune, seen in many Japanese establishments in around the world. A purse, symbolic coins, cherry blossoms, pine needles, and bamboo have all the right energy.
As befits a symbol of prosperity, the Maneki-neko is depicted here amid gold powder, gold chips, and gold leaf in the Maki-e process.
This fountain pen is provided with a Namiki #50 18k solid gold two-tone nib. The pen ships in a satin-lined handcrafted wooden presentation box which includes all papers and a special themed ink bottle. We strongly suggest ordering as soon as possible if you would like to reserve one of these very special writing instruments for yourself.
