Dressed in gold from tip to tail, the Cross Townsend 10k Gold Filled/Gold Rolled fountain pen combines durability and elegance. The 10k gold fill is made of a higher gold content than traditional gold plating, while 23k gold on the trim adds another level of sophistication.

 


Inspired by 1930s Art Deco motifs, the Cross Townsend is designed with simple yet visually intriguing lines. This pen is a perfect choice for those who tend to gravitate towards gold when selecting watches or jewelry. A subtle line pattern is engraved on the cap and barrel, providing an enjoyable tactile experience.

 


At a closed length of 5.9" and a weight of 30.9 grams, this is a full-sized and well-balanced pen. Though it is fairly slender, it still has a bit of heft, most of which is found in the cap. It can use convenient Cross brand ink cartridges, or can be filled with any bottled fountain pen ink using the included converter.


The Cross clip allows this pen to be easily affixed to a shirt pocket, making it the perfect pen for business meetings or for signing important documents - this is a pen that calls attention to the user. Engraving on the end cap certifies that the cap and body are made from 10k gold fill/gold roll.


 


A very solid "click" can be heard when putting the cap on. This makes an almost airtight seal between the cap and barrel, which helps prevents early dry-out of the nib. The clutch cap mechanism also allows for the cap to be easily removed when you are ready to write.


These 18k nibs, the same as are used in Pelikan pens, are well-suited to customizations such as Cursive Italic, Left Oblique, and our special Architect's Point modification.
