Thanks to our complimentary nib set-up and optimization process, the pen and nib you choose will be tested on paper and adjusted for your own personal writing characteristics before shipping to you.

Tipping sizes such as Extra Fine and Fine produce a narrower line but tend to be less smooth-writing than Medium, Broad, and other larger sizes. Please note that plating colors such as rhodium, ruthenium, or two-tone do not affect the actual writing properties of the nib.

Standard rigid nibs are also smoother, whereas nibs labeled as Soft, Flex, or Semi-Flex provide some line-width variation, but are less smooth on the page. 

If you are a collector, or would just prefer that your pen and nib remain unadjusted, leave the default choices in the Personal Setup window that appears after clicking the Add To Cart button and type "No Set-Up" in the "Notes About Your Order" window.
