The Nakaya Portable Cigar Ama-iro fountain pen is handcrafted from ebonite and Urushi lacquer, and comes standard with solid gold 14k single-tone nib in your choice of tipping size.
The double slit Music nib is available at an added premium, as are plated nibs in Pink Gold, Rhodium, Ruthenium, or Two-Tone.
With its smooth, slender shape and vibrant sky blue finish, Nakaya's Portable Cigar Ama-iro fountain pen is a modern pen created using traditional Japanese techniques. Although Nakaya is well-known for its darker Urushi tones, this foray into a lighter, more playful realm has produced a sought-after color that evokes a serene springtime horizon.
As with all hand-painted Urushi pens, the colors will vary slightly from pen to pen - no two will ever be exactly the same. Though the complete range of Nakaya nibs is made available, the rhodium-plated nib complements the lacquer the way a silver-lined cloud feels at home in the sky.
Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.
