Repairs and customizations typically range from $50-$120 per pen or nib unit, depending on the work needed. Please visit our repair and customization price list for details. PLEASE NOTE: There is a $20 per pen/nib evaluation charge in addition to the cost of return shipping. Our queue is currently at about 6 months (a rush option is available, see below).
Please contact us before you send in any pen to make sure we are the best option for your repair. For some general pen repair work, we may give you a referral to one of our trusted partners. Some nibs, unfortunately, are not going to be good candidates for repair.

*Please note that we can only do repairs and customizations on solid gold (not steel or gold-plated) nibs. If you are unsure about what kind of nib you have, feel free to call us at 323-655-2641.
We do not have an open shop, so we cannot invite you in. Pens may be dropped off, but only with completed paperwork and a phone call to 323-655-2641.
You may not need to send in your pen; if your pen has been skipping or drying, please vist our pen maintenance page to see what you may be able to do at home.
If you’re sending your items from outside the U.S., please identify the contents as “For Temporary Import Only.” State that there are no toxic substance inside the package when you fill out the waybill/customs form. We will not accept packages that require us to pay duties and import fees.
Please send all the items you wish to be worked on at the same time. We cannot add items to an order once an invoice has been written up.
When sending in pens and nibs, it is important that you indicate A) what hand you write with, B) the writing pressure you apply to the pen (light, medium, heavy), and C) your ink flow preference (dry, medium, juicy). This helps greatly in setting up your pen.
If you don’t know exactly what’s wrong with your pen or nib, that’s okay. We’re here to figure that out for you. The most important thing we need from you is your contact information, writing sample, and your pen! |
