This is the Nakaya Long Size with a pocket clip (Writer). This pen is hand turned from solid hard rubber rod stock, then lacquered with multiple layers of colored natural urushi resins. The hairline finish is hand "engraved" in along the length of the pen in a continuous texture.

The Nakaya Long Writer Matte Black Hairline fountain pen takes this 6 1/2'" stunner to a whole new level with its sleek matte black finish. Understated yet distinctive, the matte black adds an element of subtle sheen to this streamlined fountain pen.
The rhodium-plated clip and nib shown here complements the cool tone of the matte black finish. And while the Long Writer is too large a pen to fit comfortably in most shirt pockets, the clip also serves as a highly practical roll-stopper.
In matte black finish, raw ebonite is given multiple layers of urushi lacquer which protects against oxidation and wear. Ebonite hard rubber is a classic material for quality fountain pens - many ebonite pens produced a hundred years ago and more are still in everyday usage.
Nakaya pens can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink using the provided converter, and can also use Platinum brand ink cartridges. Hand-painted Maki-e converters are also available.
The Nakaya Long Writer Matte Black fountain pen is provided with your choice of solid gold 14k single-tone nib in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, or Extra Broad, with Fine Soft, Medium Soft, and Super Extra Fine nibs also available. We recommend the ruthenium or rhodium plated nib and clip combination.
14k nibs are well-suited to customizations including Stub, Cursive Italic, and Left Oblique, as well as the modification for added flex.
Nakaya pens ship in a solid softwood box decorated with Japanese Kanji script and lined with decorative rice paper. A fabric pen "kimono" and starter box of Platinum brand cartridges are also included, making this pen a lovely presentation item. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of the Nakaya brand.
Nakaya pens are individually handcrafted in a process that requires a minimum of three to six months and often much longer.
