Eboya of Japan creates hand-crafted pens made exclusively from hand-turned ebonite hard rubber in a process which requires a minimum of six months. Each pen has a distinctive marble pattern - no two pens will ever be exactly alike. Consult our Eboya Availability Chart to see which pens we currently have in stock and available for immediate shipment.
As the first Eboya retailer outside of Japan, we are pleased to offer these superb writing instruments. Each model is available in two or three different sizes, and in a range of different colors - see the individual pages for more details.
Eboya pens are available as cartridge-converter models or as eyedropper fillers using a hand-crafted ink shut-off system. Pens cannot be switched between the two filling systems after they are manufactured.
We are now able to offer Eboya Ebonite Pen Pillows in Kougetsu Yellow, Kumpuu Green, Shinkai Blue, and Tanshin Red. Price: $29 each.
Bock, which supplies the nibs to most European pen companies, also creates the 14k solid gold nibs for Eboya pens, available in Fine, Medium-Fine, Medium, and Broad. Eboya supplies the above chart to illustrate the relative line-widths available, but please note that your own results will vary depending on paper and ink used and your own writing style.
Eboya pens manufactured as eyedropper fillers utilize a hand-crafted ink shut-off system. Normally found only in pens at a much higher price point, this shut-off system preserves ink freshness and offers an additional layer of security against leaks.
As a result, Eboya eyedropper fillers are normally priced approximately forty to fifty percent higher than the cartridge-converter versions of the same model. Eboya has supplied the illustration at left to demonstrate the construction and operation of its eyedropper filler pens.
Eboya pens are individually handcrafted in a process requiring a minimum of three to six months. Consult our Eboya Availability Chart, updated weekly, to see which pens we currently have in stock, or simply to browse by model, size, or color.
Unless requested otherwise, each pen or nib you purchase from us will be carefully examined, tested, and optimized for your personal writing characteristics before it ships. See our nib set-up and optimization page for more details.
