Sailor Sapporo Colors Fountain Pens
Some of the most popular models in the Sapporo series, the
Colors pens offer solid hues in White, Persimmon,
and Purple. With their flat cap and barrel ends, the Sapporo
series pens are slightly shorter than the 1911 International
series pens also made by Sailor. They can feel as large in the
hand, however, because the barrel and cap width of the Sapporo
are the same as in the 1911.
White and Gold. The Sapporo Colors
White is trimmed in gold plate and sports a 14K solid gold nib.
For a subtle contrast, compare this pen to the Sapporo
Pastels Ivory.
Persimmon and Gold. This warm orange-red color
is hard to hide, or to lose. Compare this Sapporo to the Sapporo
Red Lamé or the Orange Pastel Sapporo.
Purple and Rhodium. For a different
look, try this purple with rhodium trim pen, featuring
a 14k rhodium-plated nib unit. See also the Sapporo Purple
Lamé.
Fountain pens have often been
identified by a mark or symbol engraved or attached to
the cap end visible from the top of a pocket. Sailor follows
in this long tradition--the famous Sailor anchor logo
is embedded in the cap top in either gold or rhodium-plated
brass.
The wide variety of colors available in the Sapporo series
offers more than just aesthetic pleasures--artists and
writers who own multiple pens often use the different
colors as a practical means to indicate which inks they
have at hand.
