Sailor Maki-e Dragonfly Fountain Pen

This evocative pen is based on the full size 1911 model with the same size gripping section, nib, and overall dimensions.

The dragonflies flit and flicker around the cap and barrel. A suggestion of the wetland below is economically portrayed with gold lines.

Gold dust, sprinkles of gold flake, as well as small pieces of abalone make up the wings and body of the dragonfly

The delicacy of the lines and shapes create the impression that they are moving.

This pen comes in a small softwood presentation box with two extra cartridges and all the papers.

We have the full range of available Sailor 21K nibs: EF, F, MF, M, B, Zoom and Music. (The nib at left is the Sailor fine, offering the writer an expressive tool.) The Music nib is similar to a stub with considerable line width variation. It is ideal for customization to cursive italic or formal italic for calligraphic writing.
