Pelikan M620 Piccadilly Circus
In February of 2006 we received our first shipment of the special edition Piccadilly Circus fountain pen. We are jazzed about the color.
We have taken pictures of two pens so that we can illustrate the differences. No two of these are identical. As seen above, the range of randomly placed swirls, although consistent in feeling, is enormous.

The M620 production includes the Cities Series and the Places Series of which this is the third. Celebrating what Pelikan calls the "most famous square in the world".

This is a 600-size pen, 5 1/4" long, capped. We have all ranges of nib sizes available, EF to OBB.

This is by far the most colorful of this series. As a mix of reds, blues and grey pearlescence, this pen both shouts and whispers.

The strongly contrasting hues catch attention. Twists of colored taffy, pulled and folded back on themselves are twined in irregular swoops. The shimmering pearl is only noticed as the pen is rotated. Then light reflects almost as if it is coming from inside the barrel or from inside the cap.

The more we look at these colors the more we realize there is a subtlety in the small areas, especially at the margins where the colors mix.
The word Piccadilly originates from the word "picadil", a type of wide and elaborate ruffled collar with deeply scalloped edges that was popular in the 17th century.

If we try, we can see the resemblance in the folds of a picadil to the shapes in the colors of this Piccadilly Circus fountain pen.

The clip and bands are made using rhodium, white metal plating.

The Piccadilly Circus is packed into a lovely burgundy faux-pigskin presentation box. A panel lifts, revealing the owner's manual/ instruction booklet and warranty.

"Dear Pat,
Just wanted to let you know that I received the Piccadilly Circus pen, Pelikan inks, & crisper left oblique nib and am thoroughly enjoying them all. I am using Piccadilly Circus with the extra fine nib and violet ink. It writes like a dream. This is the first extra fine nib I have used and I am making sure to use a light hand with it. I like the way it feels and the violet ink fits perfectly with the pen. The pen is gorgeous and very whimsical. I like it, but I don't look at it and say "that is a beautiful pen" the way I do with the San Francisco. Instead it is more cheery and subtly beautiful....
Many thanks to you, John, and Danielle for your helpfulness, excellent service, and great nib customizations. I love all of the pens and nibs I have purchased from you. You are a big part of making writing very enjoyable. Thank you.
Best Wishes,
Aimee" (2/23/06)
