M620 Grand Place |
The Grand-Place
in Brussels, or "Grote Markt" in Dutch, is referred to by Jean Cocteau,
the author of "Beauty and the Beast", as "the world's most beautiful
theatre". With that in mind Pelikan has crafted the Grand Place fountain
pen, their newest edition to the M620
Cities/Places Series. |

This
pen is reminiscent of the Piccadilly
Circus with its swirling iridescent layers and amebic shapes. The busy design
of the pen is not overpowering. |

The
luxurious whimsy of this Grand Place is perfect inspiration for writing or journaling.
At 5 1/4" long, capped, this pen is easy in the hand. The gold trim keeps
the pen elegant and clean. |
|
|
Notice how the blue lines cut through smooth brown tones of the resin, creating
depth not division. Unlike the New York,
Stockholm, Chicago,
Madrid and Berlin
there is something decidedly sensual about the Grand Place. |
| There are no blocks of color nor hard shapes;
the cap and barrel melt into each other in fluid movement. This pen evokes
warmth and smoothness. When we saw it our first thoughts were of fine Belgian
chocolate wrapped in gold. |

The traditional gold-plated clip adorns the cap and Pelikan's signature logo
is engraved on the top. Available in Extra Fine, Fine,
Medium, Oblique Medium, Broad, Oblique Broad, Double Broad and Oblique Double
Broad 18k two-tone nibs.
