Pelikan M425
Art Deco has its roots in Germany, among other places, so it is not surprising that Pelikan would introduce a twenty first century example. The polished sterling silver cap and twist knob of this M400 series fountain pen are engraved with concentric lines that get closer together as they approach the center of the pen. The effect on the reflective material is stunning. There is something very satisfying about posting the cap over the twist knob when writing.

Although the barrel appears black in this photo, the material is a translucent forest green, which is only noticeable when held to the light. This way, one can also see how much ink is left in the large reservoir. This transparency is just barely noticeable in these two photos.

At 4 7/8" long with the cap on this pen, weighs 24 grams. Not a large pen, it has a very nice balance. In large hands it fits nicely with the cap posted. For those with smaller fingers it feels good without the cap posted on the barrel.

This is the fourth entry into Pelikan's silver capped fountain pen series of this size. The others are the M420, M430 and the discontinued M730. The entire covey is available here. Click on the model numbers above to see them.

This is the first rhodium (white metal) plated nib in this size. Others can be found in limited edition Pelikans. Available only in F, M, B and BB, we can provide the full range of standard 14k nibs for special writing and customization.

The cap is marked "PELIKAN GERMANY SOUVERÄN" around the cap lip and "Ag 925" a.k.a. sterling silver.

We find this a refreshing and dynamic change from the vertical line pattern
