OMAS Miku Sterling Silver LE

OMAS has just released a limited edition that breaks new ground. It is inspired by a centuries old tradition in Japanese art called Manga. Based upon popular motifs or everyday occurrences, Manga drawings use humor or irony. The figures are depicted with large eyes in a comic style. This pen measures just under 5 1/4" long, capped. It has a barrel diameter of 1/2". The section is more slender, measuring just under 3/8”. This is a standard size pen, though somewhat weighty, at 60.8 grams.

Manga is a Japanese cultural tradition that reaches back centuries. In 1935, workmen restoring the Hôryûji temple in Nara, Japan uncovered Manga drawings that date back to the construction of the temple about 800 AD.

The image on each OMAS Manga LE is crafted in enamel that is contained within borders of sterling silver. These borders are slightly raised above the surface of the enamel, giving a wonderful tactile sensation when you hold the pen. The enamel is silky smooth, and the soft, simple image is quite appealing.

The two-tone nib is unique to this pen and comes in EF, F, M, and Broad. We will not have a complete stock of Manga nibs, so it is important to order in advance for specific nibs.

This is a small Limited Edition, with only 405 pens in sterling silver, and 40 in solid 18K gold. The top end is engraved with "Miku OMAS" and 2 hallmarks. The serial number and "Italy" are engraved on the twist knob at the bottom.
