OMAS Celluloid Bronze Arco (2005)

The Bronze Arco gold trim Fountain pen
This oversized pen, featured here in the Bronze Arco with gold trim , shows the material as it has never been seen before. Shades of bronze and gold radiate from beneath the hand laid resin. The grainy detail and uneven pattern of the celluloid make this pen seem as if it were precisely carved from a piece of fresh wood.
Given the size of this fountain pen, OMAS employed twice as much of the celluloid as on the original Bronze Arco. The outcome is a simply stunning pen.

The heaviest part of the pen is in the vermeil gripping section, which make this a nicely balanced pen.

All that remains of the old clip design is the roller ball, however, this ball is more than twice the diameter of the old one.

Employing the same redesigned piston filling system as the resin 2005 Paragon, this pen has the largest capacity of any of the piston fillers that we sell. It holds a whopping 2.6 ml. of ink, compared with 2.2 ml. in the biggest Pelikan: the M1000.

Available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad OMAS nibs, we can tune this pen to your writing preferences.

"A little testimonial for you ...
Dear Pat & Company: My Omas Paragon fountain pen from Omas' "Arte Italiana Collection" in the Arco (bronze celluloid) and High-Tech (silver) finish arrived today. I'm thrilled. I can't recall ever buying something quite so pricey sight unseen (other than in a single good quality magazine image) -- but Omas didn't let me down. Images on the Internet don't begin to do this pen justice (at all), and though usually I prefer tortoise shell-like finishes to be accompanied by gold trim (my beloved Parker Premier pens and mechanical pencil in the Chinese Laque finish come to mind), the High-Tech (silver) was the right way to go here (and what a nice accompaniment to my Italian Persol sunglasses in similar tortoise and silver finish -- they're like complimentary cousins [God bless those lovely and stylish Italians]). Beyond the pen itself, I must say that I was so VERY impressed with the service you all gave me there -- quite literally, from start to finish. Not only was the pen discounted to a VERY attractive and VERY competitive price (I shopped around in advance), but your knowledge and value-added service were far and away beyond what I might even have hoped for. Rarely in today's world are one's expectations met, let alone exceeded, but you've done just that; and, as a result, I certainly know who I'm buying my next pen from. Thank you one and all for your sharing of knowledge, professionalism, and for your exemplary service. It's been an absolute pleasure, and a lovely beginning to what's sure to be a long association between us.

The Bronze Arco Ballpoint

We can also provide the ball point pen by special order. (Classic Fountain Pens does not normally supply ball point pens, but have decided to make an exception here). Measuring 142 mm or 5 9/16 inches, this is the ball point that is listed with the OMAS 2005 (above). In a stroke of clarity, OMAS has designed this pen to also accept the Parker ball point and the Parker gel refill. This also means that the Schmidt and Itoya refills work. These last two are preferred by many writers not only for their two thicknesses of point and their quality, but also because of the agreeable price.
