OMAS 360 Year of Imagination LE
"2005, The Year of Imagination. OMAS dedicates its first Limited Edition to all those who, thanks to their ability to create the non-existant, have contributed to the knowledge of the universe and its laws, a tribute to and, at the same time, a memory of the international World Year of Physics, wanted by Unesco, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 'Annus Mirabilis', the peak of the development of physics, its arrival and starting point." Gianluca Malaguti Simoni, in the brochure included with the pen.

Diamond engraved into sterling silver, the marks on this pen are the formulas of physicists of the 20th century. These include of course Einstein and his theory of relativity, quantum and string theories. The surfaces are highly polished and, as we note on our Sailor 1911 Sterling page, with all smooth sterling silver finishes, minor scuffing shows. Although it can be seen on the pen when looked at close-up, it is below the resolution of these images.

At 99.5 grams, this is one of the heaviest pens we have seen. In sterling silver and with a triangular shape this pen will easily write of its own weight. The piston system holds 1.2 ml of ink. At just over 6 inches capped, this pen is a handful.

The very simple clip has an unusual design. About 1/3 up from the point, a blue enameled disc holds the pen against the cloth of your pocket. The same color of enamel zigs across all three facets of the barrel and cap.

The nib, unique to this pen, is engraved with a grid and vector design. Available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad, we will only be able to get limited nibs for this pen. Order early.
Although not large, the black solid African wengé wood box makes an unusual display as the lid pegs into the side of the base.
