OMAS 100 Years of Radio L.E.

Marconi

It was the European Year of Radio in 1995, celebrating one hundred years of the progress of global telecommunications. OMAS commemorated this event with the Limited Edition, A Century of Radio, The Guglielmo Marconi fountain pen. There was a limited production of 4,000 pieces made world wide.

This fountain pen is characterized by classic styling, fashioned from special resin in an original and exclusive midnight blue, recalling the deepest space surrounding the Earth. It is embellished with a series of slender bands representing the radio waves through the ether.
The clip is an elegant and appropriate stylization of the Morse code wireless telegraphy key.

The box that accompanies the Marconi '95 pen, is an example of the cabinet-maker's craft, reminiscent of the wooden boxes in which the early electrical wireless instruments were housed. It includes a plaque showing the steamship Nave Elettra outfitted with radio antennae. This pen comes with an 2-tone 18K Medium nib.
