Pat, Just wanted to let John and you know that I've been writing with my new pens
(Omas Paragon black/gold and Pelikan 600 red/black) since they arrived last Tuesday,
and I'm delighted with both of them. The Paragon
writes like a dream. The nib is as smooth as can be; I've never experienced anything
like it. I can use a light touch and still produce a consistent, satisfying line.
The Paragon seems especially sensitive to the flow characteristics of the ink.
I started out with Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue, but it flowed too generously; writing was like skating on wet ice. I switched to the notoriously stingy Pelikan 4001 Blue/Black, and the flow became much more restrained, too dry for my taste. The last couple of days I've been writing with Swisher/Noodler's Midnight Blue. It really brings out the best in this pen -- like writing with a cloud, if you can imagine what that would be. In a word, perfect! I look forward to many years of writing with this beautiful pen....
