The Hawk design, with sky indicated by cloud shapes, perches on the barrel and soars on the cap. A carefully controlled silver oxide patina fills the dark shapes that form the figures.

(Above) the hawk in flight flies in silhouette over the moon and hills. (To the left) we guess this hawk is modeled on the Red tail. Behind the profile of its head is a circle, suggesting either the sun or moon.
