Namiki Nippon
Art Origami Penguin Fountain Pen |
|
 |
| One of the most striking and beautifully realized pens in this
series, the Penguin depicts a baby penguin with its parent in
a world of ice and snow. |
 |
| The contrast between the subtle, dark-hued background and fanciful
hues of the more pictorial elements evokes both child-like wonder
and the playfulness of sparklers. |
 |
The playful stylization of the stars and
polar lights on both the cap and barrel sets the backdrop
for this nurturing scene.
Each of these pens exploits the Hira-maki-e
technique, a process where very fine gold dust and pigment
is sprinkled over wet urushi resin. The deep black lacquer
background forms a base for these applied colors. |

 |
This pen comes with a 14K single tone nib,
and is available in fine, medium, and broad.
The precision of Namiki nibs is legend. They write
smoothly and deliver a beautifully metered ink flow. |
