Namiki Nippon Art Origami Kabuto
Fountain Pen
|
|
 |
| The Kabuto, or pinwheel, is a well-known origami shape in Japanese
art. The design on this pen features a colorful May scene of pinwheels
blowing in the breeze. |
 |
| The Kabuto in the center is colored in rich purple hues, reminiscent
of the early summer iris blossom in Japan. |
 |
Each of these pens exploits the Hira-maki-e
technique, a process where very fine gold dust and pigment
is sprinkled over wet urushi resin. The deep black lacquer
background forms a base for these applied colors.
The straight-line graphics of folded paper lend themselves
well to this hard-edged display of color and shape. The
stylized wind, made up of silver curved lines and golden
sprinkles, blows past the whirling kabuto. This is a pen
to brighten the mood and heighten the spirits. |

 |
This pen comes with a 14K single tone nib,
and is available in fine, medium, and broad.
The precision of Namiki nibs is legend. They write
smoothly and deliver a beautifully metered ink flow. |
