Namiki Nippon Art Origami Goldfish Fountain Pen |
|
 |
| In this colorful pen, the Goldfish, known as an auspicious symbol
in Japanese art since ancient times, is seen swimming through
dark water as currents and bubbles swirl about. |
 |
| Each of these pens exploits the Hira-maki-e technique, a process
in which very fine gold dust and pigment is sprinkled over wet
urushi resin. The deep black lacquer background forms a base for
these applied colors. |
|
The straight-line graphics of folded paper lend themselves
well to this hard-edged display of color and shape. Notice the
playful relationship between the "fish" and the "bubbles".
This is a pen to brighten the mood and heighten the spirits.
The precision of Namiki nibs is legend. They write smoothly
and deliver a beautifully metered ink flow. |
|
This pen comes with a 14K single tone nib, and is available in fine, medium, and broad. |
