Namiki Nippon Art Origami Crane Fountain Pen |
| When Japanese children learn origami, one of the first complicated
paper forms they make is the crane. The crane motif is common in painting
as a symbol of good fortune. |
Sprinkles of gold appear below
each of the stylized clouds.
What child has not "flown" as a
bird or a plane in their own imagination? This crane is
seen flying over the clouds.
Each of these pens exploits the Hira-maki-e technique,
a process where very fine gold dust and pigment is sprinkled
over wet urushi resin. The deep black lacquer background
forms a base for these applied colors. |
The precision of Namiki nibs is legend. They write smoothly and deliver a beautifully metered ink flow.
This pen comes with a 14K single tone nib, and is available in fine, medium, and broad. |
