This pen was inspired by the artist Henri Matisse's gouache paper cut-out pieces that he did during his later career. "Polynesia, The Sky" done in 1946, served as the inspiration for this pen design. |

The Maki-e painted converters are available for an additional $25. The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer, is made of solid 14K gold. Each of these nibs is suitable for our customization to extra flexible. The medium and broad tips can be customized by us into cursive italic, stub, or oblique points. |
