"This surface reminds me of a Hass avocado," Jonella
said when she first opened the presentation box. This "stone
finish" fountain pen, seen here in the Heki-tame nuri color,
is a pleasure to hold and touch. The surface has just the right
combination of smooth and textured finish to feel great between
the fingers.
Because this stone-finish texture is carried through to the
gripping section where it is really felt, the design of this pen
utilizes its tactile properties to the greatest possible extent.
This model, the "Cigar", without clip, reveals the form
of the pen without encumbrance. We suggest a Pen
Pillow with all "Cigar" models to keep them exactly
where you want them on your desk.
This detail highlights the contrast in
color between the amoeba-like high spots and the deeper lacquer
color between the ridges.
We provide a complimentary
standard Nakaya converter, used to fill the pen with ink,
with each purchase. The painted "goldfish"
design is available for an additional $21.
The solid gold 14K nib is imprinted with "Nakata,"
the family name of the manufacturer.
Each of these nibs is suitable for our
customization to extra flexible (an additional $65 charge).
The medium, broad, and extra broad tips can be customized
to a cursive italic, stub, or oblique point (an additional
$55 for these customizations).
