The name Piccolo comes from the smallest of the woodwind instruments. It is just big enough to fit easily in a large hand without posting the cap (the cap does fit on the back of the barrel, though we do not recommend posting).

This simple elegant shape, with its turned tapered pyramidal cap and smooth transition between the cap and barrel, is an exercise in elegantly spare design. The kanji characters seen below mean "Fellowship." The white pearl (sea shell) zogan is inlaid just above the kanji and the gripping section is strongly dusted with platinum sprinkles.

The heavy decorative rice paper, simple solid softwood shipping box, and fabric pouch make a lovely presentation for Nakaya urushi pens. Sensible and elegant packaging has long been a hallmark of Nakaya.
