With Your Nakaya
Pen Collector's Box
Presentation and packaging have always been a noted quality with Japanese fountain pens. Now Nakaya has made a handcrafted pen collector's box which is a precious item in its own right. The outer box seen above protects and contains the double layered collector's box inside.
Opening this box has the magic of opening treasure. After untying and uncovering the outer box and lifting out the perfectly fitting bundle, the top surface of the urushi lacquer is revealed. Then the lid is un-nested from the fabric-covered compartment. This box is designed to protect and display pens. The box is made to the highest levels of craftsmanship and comes from a long tradition of Urushi lacquer work. It speaks with the authority of simple elegance. The measurements of this box are 11.25" x 9.25" x 5".
Shown above is the Nakaya three pen pillow.
The Nakaya one pen pillow is $24.00. By special order we can also provide these pillows in special colors: Heki-tamenuri, Shobu
(purple) and Kikyo (blue), $80 for the three, $70 for the one pen
pillow. These take several months to get, so patience is required.
This pillow is made from wood and
coated with Wajima urushi lacquer in Kuro-tamenuri color.
These pillows are perfect for Nakaya clipless pens which,
in spite of their elegance, have a tendency to roll.
